Mari Ryan, CEO of Advancing Wellness, Susan Hunt Stevens, CEO of WeSpire and Norm Gorin, CEO of Instinct Health Science, Inc. were the first CEO collaborative discussion leaders at The Alliance’s CEO Summit on Sustainable Business: Growing Margins, Growing Markets on October 22nd.
The CEOs addressed all the assembled participants in the Massachusetts room, kicking off the sessions with a discussion on Sustainably Engaged Employees.
Mari Ryan provided an introduction and overview to the mission-critical issue of employee engagement and, specifically, how employees might best be engaged for a healthier and more productive workplace respectful of well-being and encouraging innovation and excellence. Her company, Advancing Wellness, helps organizations achieve sustainable business results by advancing the individual wellness of their employees. The company mission is to help each individual achieve their optimal health by increasing awareness, teaching behavior change skills, and creating supportive, healthy cultures in the workplace.
Susan Hunt Stevens inspired with her tale of WeSpire‘s remarkable success, providing an integrated software platform for employees engagement provided by WeSpire and recently invested in by EnerNoc. WeSpire provides technology-based engagement programs to inspire employees for measurable impact. A pioneer in positive behavior change, WeSpire (formerly known as Practically Green) develops persuasive technology – combining dynamic content, social levers, and gamification to capture people’s imagination and produce meaningful results, helping companies accomplish critical business goals to spur innovation, growth, and revenues.
Norm Gorin shared how his company Instinct Health Sciences, Inc.’s iDiet created demonstrable success with dozens of top corporate clients including GE and the MA Museum of Science. iDiet answers the question, “How do you create engaged, healthier, happier employees, increased productivity and reduced health care costs?” by first asking, “Why are we gaining weight? Why is losing weight so difficult?”. iDiet identifies the keys to overcoming our instincts and biology through behavioral training producing “Cognitive Restructuring” in the brain and a carefully designed menu.
