The Alliance was pleased to host Mike Bernier, Parliamentary Secretary for Energy Literacy & the Environment and Dr. Susanna Laaksonen-Craig, Head, Climate Action Secretariat from British Columbia’s Ministry of Environment along with leading Massachusetts and British Columbia business executives for breakfast April 13th to discuss one of the hottest topics of conversation in the Massachusetts State House: British Columbia’s successful revenue-neutral carbon pricing. Participants engaged in a candid and close-in conversation with Massachusetts business leaders about the benefits of carbon pricing. Alliance Chair Phil Edmundson, Chairman & CEO of William Gallagher Associates, emceed the event.
The breakfast featured opening remarks by R.J. Lyman, Member & Senior Advisor to Mintz Levin followed by a panel discussion moderated by Alliance Leader Roger Freeman, President, Solventerra and featuring MA State Senator Michael Barrett, Ross Beaty, Founder & Chairman of Pan American Silver Corp. and Alterra Power Corp., and Merran Smith, Director of Clean Energy Canada as panelists.
Wayne Davis, Co-Founder & Vice President of Harvest Power then introduced Mike Bernier, who provided testimony to the successful efforts British Columbia has led on Carbon Pricing and commended Massachusetts for similar efforts.
