ABL Pay Equity Think Tank LunchAccording to a report issued by the Institute for Women’s Policy Research in March 2015, if Massachusetts stays on its current path, the gender wage gap won’t close here in the Commonwealth until 2058. There is a lot of work to do.

To that end, the Alliance hosted a Think Tank Brown Bag Lunch conversation with Evelyn Murphy, former Lieutenant Governor and President of the WAGE Project, Inc., and State Rep. Jay Livingstone on the topic of bringing pay equity to Massachusetts. A standing-room only crowd gathered at the offices of Hollister Staffing in Boston to discuss tactics and strategies to close the gender wage gap.

The Alliance is excited to testify in support of equal pay legislation at the MA State House later in July.

ABL Carbon Pricing Sprin 2015 EventThe Alliance was pleased to join with over a half dozen partner organizations – including The American Institute of Architects,  the Boston Green Ribbon Commission, Business Leaders for Climate Action, Climate Action Business Association, Climate XChange, E2 Environmental Entrepreneurs, and ELM Corporate Council – in hosting an important conversation with government officials and business leaders from British Columbia about how carbon pricing has cut their greenhouse gas rates and created growth for their economy.

The event was generously hosted by Mintz Levin and featured the Honourable Mary Polak, Minister of Environment; Dr. Susanna Laaksonen-Craig, Head of the Climate Action Secretariat at the Ministry of Environment; and British Columbia business executives discussing the benefits of carbon pricing.
