ABL invites business leaders and advocacy partners to join a workshop to strategize around how to ensure transportation is prioritized as part of an equitable economic recovery.
As we prepare to enter the next phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, with an eye toward regaining some normalcy, there will be a once-in-a-generation opportunity to rethink our public transportation system and support a substantial investment in public infrastructure that prioritizes equity, environmental justice, and affordability.
The Building Back Transit workshop will start with a briefing that provides an overview of the current state of the Commonwealth’s transportation system’s finances and service, followed by a discussion and strategy session around the transportation projects and services that should be preserved and expanded to support our economy and communities.
This workshop is hosted in partnership with Transportation for Massachusetts, LivableStreets, and Mass. Budget & Policy Center, who are sharing their expertise as part of this interactive, problem-solving workshop.
Leading the briefing and discussion will be:
- Marie-Frances Rivera, President, Mass. Budget & Policy Center
- Chris Dempsey, Director, Transportation for Massachusetts
- Stacy Thompson, Executive Director, LivableStreets
This workshop is a crucial part of ABL’s transportation policy work, supported by the Barr Foundation and Lyft, and will help shape our 2021 transportation agenda.
