The Eli J. Segal Award

About the Award

Each year, we present this award to a senior business leader whose work and values exemplify the spirit of the late Eli J. Segal. Eli was known for his ability to bridge sectors – both during his career as a business leader and while serving in the Clinton administration – and was a master networker. “The Father of AmeriCorps,” as President Clinton calls him, Eli was also the founder of the Welfare to Work Partnership, for which he received the Presidential Citizens Medal. He led in his roles as a beacon towards collaboration and strategic vision to enact changes to our most pressing societal problems. He understood that no issue should be siloed and when we bring people together, we can do more to make a change. To continue this legacy, the honoree shall demonstrate a deep commitment to the following:

  • Social responsibility and civil engagement
